Family-Owned Pizza Restaurant in Waterville, ME

They also offer thinner Neapolitan slices if you’re looking for a lighter option. Opened by couple Zoey and Osher, they decided to experiment with making pizzas over quarantine. After playing around for eight months, and much trial-and-error, they found their recipe and scrounged together enough money to open this shop on Melrose. They’re off to a great start considering their perfect 5-star rating on Yelp. The round pies are on the smaller side, but each thin slice packs a punch of flavor.

The chef is constantly rotating in new additions, depending on what ingredients are in season. If you catch Ursula’s Paradise on the menu—a white pie with clams—do yourself a favor and order it. Additionally, the restaurant has farmer’s market fresh appetizers, homemade pastas and even their seasonal ice creams are made in house. These Sicilian-style slices are decadent—thick, oil-catching chewy slices with toppings like creamy vodka sauce, crispy pepperoni and homemade tomato sauce. Come hungry and try the Naughty—a thick square with spicy vodka sauce, spicy pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, ricotta and honey to balance out that spice. The Sunset Square is another great choice with the cheese baked in first and topped with sweet tomato sauce.

The pies all pay homage to Venice—try the 1905 (the year Venice was established) with the aforementioned sausage, kalamata olives and red onion. Los Angeles is a town known for pop up restaurant concepts, and almost always, the food is outstanding. This lesser known spot for Chicago deep dish is one you’ll be happy to check out, because it perfectly nails this type of pie. The dough is chewy and the cheese is just right (i.e., not overbearing). It’s currently takeout only while in a temporary spot in Highland Park, but they expect to re-open in a permanent location in El Sereno either end of this year or early 2023.

OVE PIZZERIA

There’s limited seating in the West Hollywood location but Santa Monica has ample seating as well as offers wine and beer. This new kid on the block is giving all other pizza joints a run for their money. James Beard award-winning chef Chris Bianco has been perfecting pizza for years in Phoenix, and just last month opened his first Los Angeles outpost at Row DTLA. Currently only open for lunch (dinner service is expected to begin any day now), you can grab a perfect NYC-style slice, baked in a deck oven, for just $6. Choose from a Red, Salami or a Green slice (the green is made with creamy spinach sauce).

Waterville House Of Pizza

From the Basic Benny (similar to a pepperoni pie but the meat is sopressata) to the out-of-the-box the Rabbi (essentially a Reuben sandwich on a pizza) you’ll be impressed with the taste. And trust us, get it Gorilla Style—topped with basil, Parm, oregano, chili flakes and extra virgin olive oil. But if a trip abroad isn’t in the cards right now, this restaurant, with its original location in Naples, brings the pizza to us. Their Margarita is a perfect balance of sauce and cheese on a super-thin slice, surrounded by a chewy, slightly charred crust. Spice things up with their Diavola, which contains spicy salami and Calabrian chili. A trip to L’Antica is a night out; the picturesque garden makes it hard to believe you’re still in Hollywood.

Apollonia’s Pizzeria

With the name Nancy Silverton attached (an icon of LA’s culinary world), you know the food here is going to be good. They do things a little differently at Triple Beam, dishing up in the traditional Roman-style. You order at the counter, peep the pizza behind the display and use your hands to indicate how much you want. Expect cheesy goodness loaded with toppings and minimal crust, unless you go for a corner slice. The Roasted Fennel & Sausage and the Acorn Squash are both not to be missed.

A good blot of the oil, and the perfect fold, close your eyes and you could be in the Big Apple. It’s the same dough, but Roman style, so a square with a thicker, fluffier texture. It may feel random, but the lemon makes this slice surprisingly refreshing and pairs well with the rosemary. Check back for dinner where the pies will be made in the wood-burning oven. Los Angeles may not be known for its pizza scene, but we’re here to tell you that it definitely deserves some recognition. More and more ’za spots have opened up, and they’re bringing authentic traditions and techniques to their pies.

Restaurant Photos

You can’t go wrong with any of the options, but the Melrose pie—mozzarella, burrata, garlic, hot honey and basil—is a great place to start. We found their Jerusalem pie extremely unique and tasty; it has a sesame crust and is topped with kalamata olives and a 3-cheese combo of mozzarella, burrata and feta. Sauce and cheese combine in the perfect ratio upon each foldable slice. You can’t go wrong with a cheese pie, and the White Pesto pie is a favorite amongst customers. Other classic East Coast pizzeria options are available too like baked ziti and meatball parmesan sandwiches.

For now, the two said they are glad to be back to serve their new and existing customers who are thrilled to have their old recipes back. First, try refreshing the page and clicking Current Location again. Make sure you click Allow or Grant Permissions if your browser asks for your location.

Hailing from New York, this eatery does brick oven pizza right; ultra-thin slices with a slightly charred, chewy crust. Their classic Margarita is equally portioned with tomato sauce and cheese and topped with basil. The fan-favorite Bee Sting is off the menu but ask for this pepperoni pie topped with chili and honey and you can still get it.

From fresh pizzas to homemade lasagnas, we'll bring our delicious food to any home within a five-mile radius of Waterville, ME. We’re of course still holding on to all of your favorites including pizzas, calzones & khachapuri’s (with a list of upgraded ingredients) here at OVÉ Pizzeria. For over 40 years the La Villa family has been serving you delicious & authentic cuisine. Stavros said they changed everything including the beloved recipes, service and even let go of employees who had worked at the shop since he first bought it. Earlier this year, the pair decided the time was right to make a change and sold the pizza shop to another family.

New Yorkers will feel at home inside this pizzeria which displays classic, round NY pies. Grab a slice or order one to go, but know that their pies are huge (bigger is better in this case)! You can do half and half so your vegetarian bestie can enjoy a Veggie pie while you indulge in their Pepperoni. They also serve square pizzas if that’s more your speed, and within those, offer three gluten-free options because… LA. Niko Waterville House of Pizza also serves as a local catering company. The fee often varies with the room rate you select. It might not be for everyone, but if you're from the south and like country music even a little bit, you'll probably have a good time here. Seems like the place stays pretty busy and they have a lot of regulars. Plenty of dancing, live music, pool tables, bars, and even a mechanical bull. I would definitely go back.Pretty much my only gripe is that all the bars are cash only. Of course they have an ATM inside if needed, but it's still pretty inconvenient and not with the times.

All farm and farmhouse upgrades in Stardew Valley

stardew valley house upgrades

After that, little else is really said about it, so here’s what you need to know to upgrade your house in Stardew Valley. In order to get your house upgraded in Stardew Valley, you need to interact with the town carpenter Robin. You can find Robin at her residence at 24 Mountain Road, on The Mountain, north of the town. Upgrading your home is a crucial step on your path from an aspirant farmer to a successful landowner in the realm of Stardew Valley. Your home is a haven and a center for everyday activities as you mine for materials, look to animals, grow crops, and cultivate them.

The Farmhouse is where the player resides for the duration of the whole game. The fireplace can be moved by left-clicking or turned on by right-clicking on it. The Farmhouse is the player's permanent residence in Stardew Valley.

Second Farmhouse Upgrade

When you upgrade your farmhouse, you can do a lot more than you think. In the beginning of the game, you will only be given a single room with a bed, table, fireplace, television, and chair. If you upgrade it as soon as possible, you will have enough room for other items, and you will also be able to prepare your own meals. The second farmhouse upgrade includes another sizable addition that includes a nursery. You'll need to get this upgrade if you want to have kids with your spouse. There is no achievement for upgrading the farmhouse the third time (which adds the cellar).

Achievements

Note that Emily's parrot will not be visible to anyone in multiplayer who has not completed her 4 heart event.

Depending upon who you marry, the room will have unique attributes respective to that character. The game automatically chooses the style and location of cabins, if cabins are chosen at the start of a new game. If purchased from the Carpenter's Shop, the player can choose which style to build, and where to place them. Each new room added when upgrading can have its own flooring and wallpaper patterns. That’s all you need to know to upgrade your house in Stardew Valley.

Naturally, as you progress in the game, you’ll need a bigger house to accommodate all of your needs. There is no need for you to build every building on this list. It all depends on what kind of farm you want to have and the kind of buildings you need. You may not need certain buildings on your specific farm, so you can skip building them. You should keep in mind that buildings take up a lot of space on your farm, so you can only have a limited number of them.

In addition to the fact that farm buildings allow you to expand your farm, they also provide you with new ways to make money from your farm. When you are are interested in building farm buildings, Robin can be found in the Carpenter's Shop north of town. If you bring Robin enough supplies, she will be able to construct your farm buildings for a fee. Whenever you are ready to upgrade your farmhouse, head north of town to the Carpenter's Shop. As soon as you reach the counter, you should talk with Robin, who will be able to offer you the farmhouse upgrades that you desire. The upgrades are expensive, so you'll need a steady income before you purchase them.

Try to keep kitchen essentials in your fridge for easy cooking in the future. Flooring and Wallpaper can be changed using patterns bought from Pierre's or JojaMart. New furniture (including fireplaces) can be added at any time. Flooring and Wallpaper can be changed using patterns bought from Pierre's or JojaMart, or fetched from a Catalogue. Lastly, there are a few renovations that Robin is ready to do for free.

The player's inventory (other than tools) will appear in a chest in place of the demolished cabin. A farmhand moves into a cabin by picking up the Parsnip Seeds or Hay left by Mayor Lewis on the floor of the cabin. After upgrading the farmouse all the way, Robin offers house renovations. When you first move into Pelican Town, Pierre and Robin will greet you and introduce you to your cozy little home. Robin has some choice words for it, though, and Pierre reassures you that she just wants you to upgrade your house.

Furthermore, you can also ask her to paint various structures on your farm. Of course, upgrades are not free of cost, and you need to shell out gold and other resources. If you’re eager to expand and enhance your virtual homestead, here’s a comprehensive guide on upgrading your house in Stardew Valley.

In addition to the interior change, you may also notice the outside of the house gets a new cleaned-up look. The kitchen adds not only the ability to cook but also a place to store food items in the fridge. It acts just like any other storage container except you'll be able to cook with anything stored in the fridge (and your personal inventory).

With Robin's help, you can give your farmhouse quite the home makeover. Learn about the cost and resource requirements for each upgrade in this Stardew Valley Guide. Cabins can be demolished by the host at any time, by visiting the Carpenter's Shop (or Wizard's Tower, if the player has unlocked the magic buildings). This will permanently remove the player who occupies the cabin from the game.

Renovations

If you're thinking about marriage, you'll have a space for your spouse with this new layout. Upgrades can be bought from the Carpenter's Shop inside Robin's house. Each new room added when upgrading can have its own Flooring and Wallpaper patterns. There are 2 Achievements related to completing Farmhouse upgrades.

Once Robin has completed the upgrade, the wallpaper from your room (if you changed it) will now be in your new bedroom! The default wallpaper from your farmhouse type will decorate the living room and kitchen space. Note that there are no achievements for upgrading the farmhouse the third time (which adds the cellar) or for purchasing any renovations.

Below you will find a list of all the upgrades you can make to your house. It would require you to have 160,000g, 150 Hardwood, and 450 wood to gain every upgrade. Because these upgrades are expensive, we recommend that you only consider them as you get married and start to have children. If you've never played the game before, make sure that you have at least gotten through your first year in Stardew Valley before upgrading anything.

Much like upgrading the Farmhouse, each farmhand can upgrade their cabin three times at the Carpenter's Shop. Individual cabin upgrades are independent of any other farmhand's housing, and Farmhands can only upgrade their own housing. There is no option to upgrade any other cabin (or the main Farmhouse) on behalf of others.

The interior of a cabin is identical to that of the main Farmhouse. Robin requires three days to complete each farmhouse upgrade. Apart from Robin’s upgrades, you’ll also get an additional room attached to your bedroom when you marry one of the six bachelors or bachelorettes in town.

The first year is dedicated to teaching you everything you need to know about the game and introduces different kinds of farming and ways to earn money. Before you begin to fill in space, it is always a good idea to know what you want to accomplish. Not only does it increase your living space, but it also includes a kitchen, allowing you to cook dishes for yourself and friends, or to sell.

Once your farm is established and you have a chunk of change saved, you can talk with Robin to upgrade your home. Go to Robin's Carpenter Shop when you're ready and choose "Upgrade House" in her shop menu. When you arrive in Stardew Valley, you'll find yourself in a quaint, one-room home with little to do other than sleep and watch TV.

At that time, the house was connected to the rear of No. 532 which was much larger than No. 530. No. 530 was described at the time as looking like “only part of a house.” No. 530 would later become a backbuilding to No. 532. Caspar and Abraham Sharpless sell No. 530 and No. 532 to William Alburger for $1. Alburger pays a yearly rent to the Sharplesses of $102 for No. 530 and a yearly rent of $114 for No. 532.

Poe family years

There was a spacious lawn facing Seventh Street, where Muddy could frequently be seen. Clemm was always busy… clearing the front yard, washing the windows and the stoop, and even white-washing the palings [a fence made from pointed wooden stakes]. You would notice how clean and orderly everything looked.” The Poes were respected, though neighbors sometimes speculated about the strange and insular family. One neighbor claimed to have only seen Poe leave the house a dozen times, yet another remembers him frequently laughing outdoors with his wife and mother-in-law.

Around the time he lived here, his failed literary endeavors and his ailing wife’s costly medical care finally forced him to file for bankruptcy. His bankruptcy petition lists hardly any furniture or valuable material possessions.Poe had elite tastes in furniture and dĂ©cor that were beyond what he could afford, but one aspect of the parlor might have attracted his sensibilities. The mantle above the fireplace is made of marble, one of the most elegant aspects of the house.

In the period from 1980 to 2011, the museum hosted a number of Poe events throughout the year. It claimed, for example, the largest Poe birthday celebration in the world held every January at the Westminster Hall and Burying Ground, where Poe was buried following his death in October 1849. In 2009, the museum staged a third funeral for Poe (theatrical) for the Poe Bicentennial at Westminster Hall. The bedroom door is then blown open to reveal Madeline, bloodied from her arduous escape from the tomb. In a final fit of rage, she attacks her brother, scaring him to death as she herself expires. The narrator then runs from the house, and, as he does, he notices a flash of moonlight behind him.

The house was saved by the efforts of the Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore, which made arrangements with the city of Baltimore and opened the home as The Baltimore Poe House in 1949. Poe was born in Boston, the second child of actors David and Elizabeth "Eliza" Poe.[4] His father abandoned the family in 1810, and when his mother died the following year, Poe was taken in by John and Frances Allan of Richmond, Virginia. They never formally adopted him, but he was with them well into young adulthood. He attended the University of Virginia but left after a year due to lack of money.

Come to Baltimore during the first weekend in October to attend the International Edgar Allan Poe Festival & Awards. Enjoy a bevy of Poe-themed events, including performances, tours and family-friendly activities. You can also visit Poe’s final resting place just a few blocks away at the Westminster Hall & Burying Ground. Poe’s death is shrouded in mystery—he was found in a gutter in Fell’s Point and suffered from delirium for days before passing—but it’s widely believed that the city’s oldest bar was one of his last stops before his death. The Horse You Came In On Saloon opened in 1775 and today is known for its dive bar vibe and live music, but also enjoys the occasional ghost sighting.

Established in 1906 as the Poe Memorial Association, this organization failed to generate enough public support for the monument. Ten years later the members regrouped to save the Southern Literary Messenger building and create the National Poe Museum inside. The city’s building inspector decided to have the building demolished as part of a plan to widen Fifteenth Street (the city eventually widened Fourteenth Street instead.) Undeterred, Whitty salvaged the building materials to use elsewhere. He met historic preservationists Archer and Annie Jones who were renting Richmond’s famous Old Stone House. Mrs. Jones decided the empty lot behind the house would be a fitting location for a Poe memorial garden, and Whitty allowed her to use the bricks and granite from the Southern Literary Messenger building to pave the garden paths and to build a shrine to Poe. Poe Baltimore is committed to enriching the experience of visitors to Baltimore, who come to witness the city that inspired Edgar Allan Poe and his intellectual and literary heirs.

Edgar Allan Poe’s great-grandfather established the family in Baltimore in 1755. Poe lived with his aunt in a small duplex on North Amity Street in Baltimore from about 1832 until the fall of 1835. During this period, he composed poetry, wrote literary criticism and penned some of his earliest short stories like “MS. Found in a Bottle” and “Berenice.” Visit the Poe House and Museum to see the writing desk and chair where he created some of his famous work. In the 1930s, homes in the area, including Poe's, were set for demolition to make room for the "Poe Homes" public housing project.

Alburger sells No. 532 to John Evans Jr. on the same day for the same amount. Alburger constructs a “three-story brick [house with adjacent land]” on the property of No. 530 sometime between September 1840 and October 1841. The vertical picture window in the northern end of the visitor center looks out on Poe’s humble cottage, which is open to the public. The cherry and lilac trees that Poe once looked out on from the veranda are long gone. The ground floor consists of a kitchen, a parlor and a tiny bedroom that was probably Maria’s until Virginia was no longer strong enough to mount the stairs.

It was cheaply built as a house for farm laborers around 1812 and is the last surviving building of old Fordham Village, which was part of Westchester County until it was annexed to New York County in 1874. The village was still rural when the cottage was occupied in the spring of 1846 by Poe, Virginia and her mother, Maria Clemm. Then 37, Poe had already achieved literary fame, but he was so poor he could barely buy food. Along with the imagery from the first stanza of “To One in Paradise” there are many pieces of the garden with connections to Poe’s life. The stone benches sitting along the edges of the garden were taken from the Yarrington Boarding house, which was located near the Capitol along Bank Street (the site where Poe married his wife Virginia). The ivy that lines the green isle was taken from Edgar Allan Poe’s mother’s grave in St. John’s Church.

The Poe Shrine’s charter members included railroad magnate Henry Huntington, composer John Phillips Sousa, and several descendants of Edgar Allan Poe’s relatives and friends. Cultural figures from around the world flocked to the new memorial, which counted among its early visitors Gertrude Stein, H.P. Lovecraft, Henry Miller, and Salvador DalĂ. A peculiar feature of the house is the insignia “IR” to the right of the east window on the south side of the house. One theory holds that the initials stand for “Jacobus Rex” meaning “King James” and that the house was built during the brief reign of James II from 1685 to 1688. In 1824, a young Edgar Allan Poe was a part of a junior honor color guard that escorted the Revolutionary War General Marquis de Lafayette around Richmond.

As he relates the shield falling from off the wall, a hollow metallic reverberation can be heard throughout the house. At first, the narrator ignores the noises, but Roderick becomes increasingly hysterical. Roderick eventually declares that he has been hearing these sounds for days, and that they are being made by his sister, who was in fact alive when she was entombed.

He was frequently published in literary magazines, but was never able to successfully manage one.Despite Poe’s hopes of entertaining wealthy investors, guests would have found Poe’s parlor somewhat lacking in dĂ©cor. Poe did not own much furniture at this time because he moved frequently, not just around Philadelphia, but also to New York City and Richmond, Virginia.

From his arrival, the narrator notes the family's isolationist tendencies, as well as the cryptic and special connection between Madeline and Roderick, the final living members of the Usher family. Throughout the tale and her varying states of consciousness, Madeline completely ignores the narrator's presence. After Roderick Usher claims that Madeline has died, the narrator helps Usher entomb Madeline in an underground vault despite noticing Madeline's flushed, lifelike appearance.

He quarreled with John Allan over the funds for his education, and his gambling debts. In 1827, having enlisted in the United States Army under an assumed name, he published his first collection, Tamerlane and Other Poems, credited only to "a Bostonian". Poe and Allan reached a temporary rapprochement after the death of Allan's wife in 1829. Poe later failed as an officer cadet at West Point, declared a firm wish to be a poet and writer, and parted ways with Allan. Exhibits tell the story of Edgar Allan Poe’s life and death in Baltimore and significant artifacts such as Edgar’s portable writing desk and chair, and a telescope, china and glassware used by Edgar when living with the Allan family in Richmond, Virginia.

After his early attempts at poetry, Poe had turned his attention to prose, likely based on John Neal's critiques in The Yankee magazine.[46] He placed a few stories with a Philadelphia publication and began work on his only drama Politian. After his death the cottage, as his last home, became something of a literary landmark. In 1913, the house was saved from demolition by the New York Shakespeare Society, which raised funds to move it across the street to a public park so that it could be preserved in perpetuity. You’d never know by looking at the tiny, unassuming brick house that it’s cultural landmark. But walk inside and you’re roaming the perfectly preserved halls and wooden floors that shaped a legend. Learn about Poe’s life and death through the handful of educational exhibits and take a gander at some vital Poe artifacts, including his writing desk and chair, on display.

The Martian Chronicles, a 1950 collection of stories by Ray Bradbury, contains a novella called "Usher II," a homage to Poe. Its main character, William Stendahl, builds a house based on the specifications from Poe's story to murder his enemies. On April 26, 1922, the Poe Shrine opened to the public with a weekend of activities in the Enchanted Garden. A highlight of the event was a talk by Edward Virginius Valentine who had once met Poe seventy-three years earlier. The Shrine itself was built of bricks and building materials from the office of the Southern Literary Messenger where Poe was employed and which was located just a few blocks from the museum.

It is located on Kingsbridge Road and the Grand Concourse in the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx, New York,[2] a short distance from its original location, and is now in the northern part of Poe Park. The earliest surviving home in which Poe lived is at 203 North Amity St. in Baltimore, which is preserved as the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum. Poe and his works influenced literature around the world, as well as specialized fields such as cosmology and cryptography. He and his work appear throughout popular culture in literature, music, films, and television. The Mystery Writers of America present an annual Edgar Award for distinguished work in the mystery genre.

Inside the Shrine sits a “pallid bust” of Poe greeting visitors from all over the world. Poe would have been aware of the Old Stone House’s significance since the house was already appearing in guidebooks as a Richmond landmark. An 1843 book already refers to the century-old house as “the old Stone House” and calls it the oldest house in Richmond. In the last half of the nineteenth century, the house, then used as a curio shop, was called “Lafayette’s Headquarters” or “Washington’s Headquarters” even though neither had actually used it as their headquarters at any time.

It is revealed that Roderick's sister, Madeline, is also ill and falls into cataleptic, deathlike trances. Roderick and Madeline are the only remaining members of the Usher family. Henry Jones divides his property with James Jones and sells his half-share of No. 530 to James Jones for $2,899. The main block of the house is built sometime between January 1845 and May 1849 causing an increase in the property’s value. The Enchanted Garden serves as the backdrop for a variety of events throughout the year including weddings, Unhappy Hours, the Birthday Bash, and other special events. The Enchanted Garden is also available to be rented for private events.

Despite this admission, Usher remains in the mansion and composes art containing the Usher mansion or similar haunted mansions. His mental health deteriorates faster as he begins to hear Madeline's attempts to escape the underground vault she was buried in, and he eventually meets his death out of fear in a manner similar to the House of Usher's cracking and sinking. The narrator is impressed with Roderick's paintings and attempts to cheer him by reading with him and listening to his improvised musical compositions on the guitar. Roderick sings "The Haunted Palace", then tells the narrator that he believes the house he lives in to be alive, and that this sentience arises from the arrangement of the masonry and vegetation surrounding it.

Though Poe lived in many houses over several years in Philadelphia (1838 to 1844), it is the only one which still survives.[2] It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962. The Visit Philly Overnight Package — booked more than 190,000 times since 2001 — comes with free hotel parking (worth up to $100 in Center City Philadelphia), overnight hotel accommodations and choose-your-own-adventure perks. In 2013, a new non-profit organization, Poe Baltimore, was established to serve as the museum's new governing body and operate the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum.

The Edgar Allan Poe House, a National Historic Landmark, is open to visitors throughout the year. Please visit our events page to check for holidays or special event schedules. In the opening scene of season 3, episode 2 "All Due Respect," of the HBO series The Wire, two low-level members of the Barksdale Gang recall how one was once approached by a white tourist asking him if he knew the location of the "Poe House". Misunderstanding, he replies "Look around, take your pick!"[17][18] The Wire chronicles the activities of the fictional Barksdale Organization based in west Baltimore, where the Poe House is located. The narrator and Roderick place her in a tomb despite her flushed, lively appearance.

The Poe Museum began over a century ago when an Edgar Allan Poe collector and researcher named James Howard Whitty and a group of literary enthusiasts met in Poe’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia to create the state’s first monument to a writer. Among the treasures in the Edgar Allan Poe room at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Mount Vernon is an important collection of Poe’s books, manuscripts, letters and even a lock of his hair. The Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site is open Friday through Sunday. Although the house lacks furniture, possibly due to Poe selling it to finance his move to New York, the film, exhibits and tour make the trip very worthwhile. Guests can explore the home on their own or join ranger-led tours that recount how Poe dealt with family poverty, Virginia’s grave illness and his own personal demons.
